The Office of Educational Affairs works to centrally collect, maintain, and analyze student assessment and evaluation data across our three campuses. Additionally we work to distribute this data to key stakeholders for continuous quality improvement, including:

  • College-wide leadership such as the College Committee on Instruction and Appraisal (CCIA) and the College of Medicine Executive Committee
  • Course leadership, including college-wide course leads and teams for Block courses and the Clerkship Education Coordinating Committees
  • Student Curricular Board representatives who are working on course reports.

The Office of Educational Affairs also presents annually to curricular committees such as CCIA, Phase 1 Management, Phase 2/3 Management, and faculty meetings on data such as:

  • Student Assessments (e.g., USMLE)
  • National surveys such as AAMC Year 2 and Graduation Questionnaires as well as the Resident Readiness Survey.

The Office of Educational Affairs is able to share select aggregate data and presentation materials to UI COM faculty and staff. Please note response time may vary depending on the complexity of the request. Please see the form below to submit a data request:

Request Access here

SCB representatives who work on course reports may receive access to course evaluation data from the Office of Educational Affairs. Students are asked to only use this data for the purpose of creating reports as part of the Student Curricular Board and to not share raw evaluation data more widely. In order to receive access to evaluation data from the Office of Educational Affairs, SCB representatives must watch a brief training video and fill out an attestation. Students must complete this process each academic year, regardless if they have completed trainings in prior years. You may access this video here (please note you will need to log in with your UIC SSO to view).
