The Office of Educational Affairs provides services in curriculum development and instructional design to ensure that teaching and learning at the College of Medicine are engaging, evidence-based, and aligned with accreditation standards. Our team partners with faculty, staff, and course leaders across all campuses to design high-quality educational experiences that prepare our students to succeed as physicians and healthcare leaders.

We support faculty and coordinators with:

  • Curriculum Development and Alignment
    Guidance on course and session design, ensuring objectives, instruction, and assessment are fully aligned with program outcomes and LCME standards.
  • Instructional Design Consultation
    One-on-one and group support for designing learner-centered sessions, incorporating evidence-based teaching practices, and creating active learning opportunities.
  • Learning Technologies Support
    Assistance with Blackboard/Canvas and instructional technologies such as ScholarRx, Echo360, BioDigital, and Zoom.
  • Assessment and Feedback Design
    Consultation on formative and summative assessments, multiple-choice question best practices, and strategies for meaningful feedback.
  • Accessibility and Inclusive Design
    Recommendations and resources to make course materials accessible and inclusive, including the use of Ally and other accessibility tools.
  • Faculty Development and Training
    Workshops, webinars, and on-demand resources on teaching strategies, curriculum design, and emerging trends in medical education.
