About
Cheryl Hitosis McKearin is the Director of Instructional Technology and Design for the College of Medicine. With over a decade of experience in IT, education, instructional design, and instructional technology, she plays a key role in shaping the technology strategy for COM. She provides training and advanced support for instructors across UIC’s ecosystem of educational technologies. Before transitioning to instructional technology, she taught English composition and ESL/ELL for nearly ten years. Cheryl earned her undergraduate degree in English Literature from UIUC and holds graduate degrees in English Literature and Instructional Leadership from UIC. She is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Instructional Technology at NIU. Cheryl enjoys eating noodles, reading novels, and scuba diving in warm waters, especially around Guam, where she was born and raised.
